- The door can be made of wood, UPVC, steel or aluminium and can even be a composite door.
- Suitable for doors up to 5.90 in (15cm) thick: all normal interior and exterior doors, as well as screen doors with thin metal panels or extra-thick doors.
- Profiled doors are suitable. Our wooden frames are solid and can be touched up on installation.
- If your door has a special finish, you can paint, varnish, … yourself the ‘natural’ finished cat doors.
A cat flap in a glass door or a window
A wooden cat flap in glass is absolutely beautiful ! Not only beautiful, but it’s also draught-free, insulated and safe! We know it’s not easy to organise, but we’re more than happy to help you. A cat flap for glass doors is often installed in patio doors or garden doors, allowing your cat to access outdoor spaces while keeping the door secure and insulated.
How to install a cat door in glass
A door in glass is done in 3 steps:
- Look for a glazier in your area who can replace your glass with a glass pane with a rectangular hole. Not all glaziers take on this kind of work but contact us if you don’t find anyone because we can recommend glaziers who will be happy to do it for you !
- Order the cat flap in advance on our website so that it is delivered by the time the glazier comes to take the measures. The glazier will then measure both your glass pane and the cat flap. Nothing can go wrong.
- When installing the glass, the glazier will fit the cat flap, which takes only a few minutes.
All done!
If it doesn’t work or gets too expensive and you don’t have doors to install a cat flap? Consider a cat door through the wall … a very comfortable solution.

Usually they run vertical, from bottom to top. So do not position your cat door under a switch, tap, ….. If in doubt, please contact us.
Installation may seem like a chore but we have been sending our wall doors around the world since 2014 where they are installed by customers themselves. We only get compliments on the ease of installation. Our installers will be happy to do it for you in Great Britain, California (US), Belgium and the Netherlands. You can simply order the installation along when you order your cat door and we contact you to make an appointment.
If you did want to remove the door after many years, it is a job of 2 times half a day to reseal the hole in the wall.

In the UK, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and California (US) we have installers, so you can include the installation in your online order. We will then contact you a few days later to arrange the installation date. Very comfortable: we install with little dust and take all waste with us. But to be honest, if you can make the hole in the door or wall yourself, the rest of the work is very easy. Is wood suitable for a cat flap ?
Indeed, because wood gives you a lot of pleasure: it insulates, looks good, feels nice, etc.

So if you polish the pet door a few times a year with a cloth with some oil, it will stay in excellent condition for years. Regular care helps preserve the appearance and insulation performance of your wooden cat flap.
