By the way, our dog doors for installation in walls have two flaps: one on the outside wall and one on the inside wall. This creates an insulating layer of air between the two flaps … very comfortable.
And if the wind gets too high, there’s the solid wooden locking door that comes as standard. Then the dog door is sure to be shut tight, even in the worst weather.
On top of all that, wood is a natural insulator so the door won’t feel cold at all.
No replacement flap

Each dog door comes with a 2 cm thick solid wooden night door that locks securely with a steel lock. You can be sure that door will keep your pet safely inside and protect against burglary.
By using wood on the flap, our doggie door is also less conspicuous in your door or wall than a plastic door. And because of the non-transparent flap, a strange cat will not see it as an entrance.
Quiet, noiseless

Four sizes of dog flaps, which one to choose?
Measure your dog from the ground to the shoulders at the front legs.
Small dog door: Nipper (S)
Is your dog less than 14 inches (35 cm) tall at the shoulders? Then take the Nipper dog flap. But do you have a broad dog, such as an English Bulldog? Then do the door test: open the door 20 cm and call your dog in. No problem? Then the Nipper (Small) door is suitable. Otherwise, you had better take the 24 cm Jake (Medium) door.

Medium dog door: Jake (M)
Is your dog less than 20 inches (50 cm) tall at the shoulders? Then take the Jake (Medium) door.

Large dog door: Bouncer (L)
The most sold dog door is the Bouncer (Large) door for dogs with a shoulder height between less than 24 inches (60 cm).

And for the largest dogs, there is the Beethoven door. Do you have doubts about whether the dog door is wide enough? Open your door 12.7 inches (32 cm) and call the dog in. No success? Then you can contact us to have an even larger dog door custom-made.

Do not take a dog door that is too big, but if you are not sure, then give your dog the benefit of the doubt and take a bigger size!

that is a job for a glazier. They will come and measure the window in order to replace it. Make sure your pet door is delivered to you when the glazier comes to measure the window. Then he can take the exact measurements of the door as well and you’ll be sure to be fine!

Use wood for a dog door?
Indeed, because wood gives you a lot of pleasure: it insulates, looks good, feels nice, etc.
And our wood is low-maintenance because it has been treated with oil, so that dirt cannot enter it. So if you polish the pet door a few times a year with a cloth with some oil, it will stay in excellent condition for years.
By the way, you can also order our pet doors ‘natural’ as well for you to finish them the way you want: do you like your dog door black, blue-grey, etc.? It’s possible!
Fit your dog flap yourself or have it installed?
In Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain and California (US) we have installers, so you can include the installation in your online order. We will then contact you a few days later to arrange the installation date.
Very comfortable: we install with little dust and take all waste with us.
But to be honest, if you can make the hole in the door or wall yourself, the rest of the work is very easy. No fiddling about with small, fragile parts: only high-quality materials that are a pleasure to work with. A fun project for a handy DIYer.
